Hi all, its been a while.

I don’t know why, and I don’t know how, but, I’m sitting here in the the workshop, with a journal in front of me, staring at the pages, as the blank Books I’ve gathered whisper to me, the Ink I’ve collected calls out to me, begging to be Written into an Age. I feel compelled to do so… But I don’t know what to Write. I don’t know what my first Age should be… It needs to be something special… But what?

I feel pulled towards a garden of some sort. But not like Eder Kemo, or Eder Tsogal… Something much more like Direbo, or Kadish Tolsea.. A dark, peaceful place, but also a place with inner light.

I don’t understand it, yet… But, I suspect, in time, the words will come to me, and I will begin to write into my practice book, this journal that sits in front of me. Perhaps, it will be Writen one of the blank Books I have, with that rarest of all Inks.

Perhaps I, like the D’ni, and fellow explorers before me, will tend to the branches of the Great Tree.

I don’t know why, but.. D’ni itself doesn’t call me as strongly as it used to, things have changed down there, and I’m not sure I like how its changing.

On a lighter note, I’m repairing an old cannen, to place in the Pub, should be nice. Drinks are still on back order… This is taking far too long. I saw Keith mention on Beneath that Jilen had brewed some drinks from things in Ahry’ahn, might be something to that, actually, maybe we could brew some drinks from things in the Ages.

Also, I think I’ve discovered Seret. Waiting on confirmation, but.. hopefully this is it.

That’s about all from me…. Perhaps more later. Maybe I’ll have some idea about this Age that’s forming in my mind.

Well, as mentioned on [ Twitter ], I linked into a location in D’ni Keith (Keith Lord, of [ Beneath ] ) was restoring. Whilyam and I linked in as Keith, Steven, and Sophie were discussion some things, we weren’t exactly expecting to see people.

I linked in from a Book I found in one of Keith’s areas, glad it was somewhere he was restoring, else it could have been a bit unpleasant.

Things to note: Location seems to be the home of an Archivist, Fehnir, along with the site of his death, during the Fall of D’ni. He left a journal, which was apparently being written as he died of the plague. Keith tells me he was the “owner” (for want of a better word), of Lehns, and Ahry’ahn, another Age. Keith and the others have not opened access to Ahry’ahn yet, but I look forward to visiting, one day.

Seems like now there is general access to Fehnir’s house, the location is going to be fast-tracked, and will be released soon, feel bad about forcing Keith’s hand like this, though, he’s a great guy. I’ve been getting to know him through my work for Subterranean Restorations.

Fehnir is still lying there, is should note, just like Kadish lies in his vault. Please be careful with the poor fellow, if you do eventually visit.

Sweet zombie zombie!

Plenty more explorers down in D’ni now. Some familiar faces… some of them I’d kinda hoped I wouldn’t see again, though. Its not nearly as peaceful as it used to be, sadly. But, you’ve got to take the bad with the good.

The real question, is, I guess, “Is the tree growing again?” Or, is the Tree being rebuilt? As WORDs says, only a dead tree is built.

As far as I’m concerned, only the gathered, the called, can make the Tree grow again. And, if anything, it will be the Art that will cause it to grow, again. The writing of Books sustains the Tree, as far as I’m concerned, for the links that the Art creates (By “creates” I mean the Links, not the Ages) tends and encourages new growth on the branches of the Tree. We, the gathered, the called, tend the Tree by our Writing, our explorations. It is a pity some see our Writing as killing the Tree.

I have not yet Written my first age, my korfah, the concept has not grown in my mind, the Words have not begun to flow onto the pages of the kor’nee-ah, but, in time, I believe they will. I will contribute to the tending of the Tree, in time.

EDIT: I think it should be noted, that only a small, select, few I’ve seen that I’d have preferred not to have seen. If you’re not sure if you’re among those people: You’re most likely not among them.

Well, a fair bit has happened since my last post on this blog, mentioned some of it on my Twitter account, but, otherwise, most of it hasn’t been commented on.

I’ve managed to find a bunch of people down here, and have been working on some things with them, lately.

One of them figured out how to fix the Imager (Thanks again, Diafero), actually. Its all working perfectly, now, too.

I’ve turned the pub office into a meeting place for us all, so, I’m looking for a new base of operations, now. I brought in a soccer ball from the surface, for the group, and am working on bringing down the stone slab that blocks a small room, or so the “sounder” one of the others has. The sounder tech is D’ni, and as a result, very interesting.  The room should be perfect for a Nexus book and pedestal.

I’m still hanging about in the workshop age, and that’s where my stuff is at the moment. The sounder seems to indicate that there’s another room behind the shelving in the pub, but right now, I don’t have the resources to get at it, and, to be honest, I don’t really feel the need to, yet, either.

Going to be bringing in some drinks/etc in, too. I think one of my experimental firemarble batteries might even be able to power a fridge, or something. Here’s hoping.

Been working hard on the pub-style imager, trying to get it up and running. It sure has taken me a while. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Damn, that tech is weird.

Anyways, I found a linking book hidden inside the damn thing, that seemed to be the problem, actually, it was jammed in tight, had to attempt some repairs after getting the blasted thing out. Got the imager working again, though.

Not forgetting the last random linking book I followed, infact, the one that lead to the Pub, I decided to grab a maintainer’s  suit, before linking. Wasn’t necessary, this time, though. Linked through to a sort of.. Workshop-ish area, in an inclosed area, looks like its one of those places created by the D’ni Extruder tech, Definitely not in D’ni, of course, but, still, looks like its in the middle of some cavern, since all around is rock, and nothing much else, few firemarble lights that look like they’ve been added in after the room was formed, via extruders. Definitely looks like a workshop, though, fair bit of room, and a bunch of tools.  Some workbenches, too. Linked back to the pub, and grabbed the book again, this book is going in my bag, its going to be mighty useful, I feel.

Unhooked the other imagers in the pub, and managed to shift them through to the workshop Age. These tools should make it easier to repair them, hopefully.

Dropped the book off in my Relto, for safe keeping.

Well, been restoring the pub, tests have all come back positive, pretty much ready to fast-track to Phase 3 Restoration, with Phase 4 following shortly behind, unforeseen issues not withstanding. Not much lighting around, though. Might need to rig up some Firemarble lanterns. Not entirely sure where this pub is located, at the moment, might have to knock down one of stone slabs that seem to be blocking off the doors.

I assume when this place was used, there used to be some sort of mechanism opening them. Don’t see anything here, now, though. I’d really hate to set a sledgehammer to them, though. Maybe there’s some sort of D’ni tool I could use to remove them, without damaging it too much? Plus, who knows what its made out of, a sledgehammer might not even be enough. Anyone else tried to remove these kind of things? and if you have, have you had any luck? I wish the KI co-ordinates system was at all reliable, that, and I wish I had configured my KI, too. Been meaning to do that for a while.

Well, first up, I have a twitter account, I modded my KI further, I can now post to twitter. Seriously, D’ni tech is down-right *strange*. Link to twitter: http://twitter.com/kaelisebonrai

I’ve been down in the city, checking out a district I’d heard about. Lo and behold, the district had one of those “public library” things, most of the books there were destroyed, unfortunately. Well, except for a couple of ones hidden pretty well. Must’ve been a fairly new library, at the time of the fall — it had a Nexus terminal outside. I reg’d my KI, grabbed one of the ages, and linked back to my Relto. I didn’t want to risk the link without some protection, of course. Glad I didn’t. More on that later. Still shaking. Grabbed a maintainer suit, put the sucker on, took a deep breath, and linked.

Well, no searing heat or brightness, at least. Thanked my lucky stars, and had a look around. Looks like someone’s family age. Pretty non-descript. Looks like the surface back home in Western Australia. Not terribly exciting. But, I found a book back to D’ni, looked like some sort of.. I don’t know what, really. Linked anyway, perhaps not my smartest idea ever. But, I did what I did. Ended up, well, linking onto — well, nothing. A big gaping hole. Fell for a while, damn I *hate* heights, and that didn’t help one bit. I’m shuddering from the thought, and I haven’t stopped shaking since that drop.

Anyways, fell smack dab in the middle of what must’ve been a pub made by the same d’ni builder as Kahlo Pub, if not, well, they must’ve liked eachother’s work, because its almost exactly the same. Except, well… On this one, the door in is damn well sealed, isn’t it?

Well, I’m kinda thankful that I’ve been reading up on writing Linking Books, of late, so, well, I’m going to give it a go.

I always bring a empty book, and some ink with me, in my backpack, along with my other gear. I gave writing the linking book my best shot, and hoped for the best. Stuffed the book into my backpack, hoping to God that it’ll work, and I don’t have to go through the falling ordeal again to get back there.

Anyways, right now? I’m really thankful my relto book is always with me, too. There didn’t seem to be *any* exits out of that place, other than my Relto, and the great big hole in the roof. Actually, come to think of it, there was no roof.

I didn’t look around much, but, there seem to be a bunch of imagers, which is great, but, other than that, I just saw the similarity to Kahlo Pub, and then tried my hardest to get the linking book written. Damn I hope I got it right.

I seriously need some rest… I’m shaking all over, that REALLY gave me the hebe-jeebies. Ugh.

Well, I decided to head back to Relto, and was surprised.

It looks far more like the Relto I had in ’08, just after most explorers headed back topside, than it has at any point since then. Maybe things are stabilising? Most of my books were missing, though. Odd thing was, though, I had the Words books back on my shelf, along with the City Yeesha-Commentary book.

Linked to Ae’gura, and re-registered the Nexus terminals. It felt different this time, though. It felt like an adventure into the unknown, for a change, it felt, well, new again. I felt the thrill of exploring D’ni, the place the Ronay called “New Again”, a place that felt like it was named to me, something I haven’t felt since I first came down in ’06.

I went down to the Kahlo Pub, and wondered how many others like it there are down here… I know Keith has one, the D’ni Jazz Club, and the offices of the Firemarble. I don’t know why, but, I’ve always had a fondness for the pub…

Maybe I should see if I can find one of my own, for my own office. Hope it’ll have its own imagers, working ones, at that, though.

Hms, Actually, I might just know where I can find one — time to get to work, I think.

I’ve been thinking about instances a lot lately. Seems like most people have fairly constant instances, they don’t change much for them. Me, it seems that every time I turn around, the cavern “instance” I visit, has reverted, and all my work is for nothing.

Sometimes it is a bizarre mix of the restoration periods, a strange mix of the 2007 Restoration attempt and the Cavern at the time of the DRC leaving the Cavern in 2004.

Sometimes it feels like nothing has changed since 2004.

Its odd, really. I wonder how Keith Lord’s instance stabilised, sometimes.

I recently went back down again, and found that the pub I was working on had been reverted to its original state, all the work I had done, for nothing.

Hell, there’s even a slight drizzle here in Eder Delin, no snow, as yet, though.

Got a question for all you explorers out there: Has this sort of thing happened to any of you? Or am I just going crazy down here?

Not sure what to do, since doing anything seems to revert sooner or later, in this place… Let me know if any of you have the same problems, fellow explorers!
